I drank approximately 2 shots worth of alcohol one night because I got rejected. That was the first night I drank for fun, without adults knowing. I'm not gonna go too in depth, but the usage of alcohol to cope started to affect my everyday life, and started to cause more harm than the hour of feeling nothing was doing for me.
Despite sitting through D.A.R.E, I still chose a route of abuse, and it could've ruined my life had I not stopped. It may be fun, it may be "cool", but alcohol and drugs can and will consume your life if you do not quit (or even better, never start them to begin with).

We started ESCAPE in 2026, because we were both done with drugs and alcohol consuming our lives. As two students in a smaller town, our goal felt impossible, but we are attempting anyway. ESCAPE is still getting started, and it's unknown how likely it is to work, but it'll be worth the time and money put in if we can stop even just 1 teenager from going through the hardship of drugs.
